Art workshops for May
MAY 4: 'Dusty Smudges'
- Drawing with charcoal.
Exploring different
charcoals and drawing techniques.
I will bring some different kinds of charcoals and other art
materials to use but please bring your own materials if you have any. Also
bring an old towel to wipe your hands. Be prepared to get your hands dirty.
It’s wonderfully dusty and smudgy. Maybe an apron or old shirt is a good idea
too.
MAY 11: 'Drawing with nature': Create an ephemeral art work in the
garden using found natural materials. After tea we can draw our artworks or
photograph them to document them. Please bring secateurs. We won’t be cutting
plants and trees but we may need to cut found objects on the ground.
MAY 18:' INK MARKS'
- Drawing botanicals with ink and making our own drawing tools. Please bring
secateurs.
MAY 25: Free
day. Gathering and creating together in the garden. Bring your sketchbooks and materials of choice.
We meet in the pavilion situated in the Brisbane Native Garden section of the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Garden. The workshop starts at 9.30 and finishes at 12 noon. The cost is $20 a workshop.
The classes are small with only space for 8 people . Please book if you are interested.
